Last week my wife and I were so busy planning our son’s birthday party celebrating his first birthday that I didn't have a chance to tell you all the wonderful things that have been happening. I'll update you at a later date but more importantly I want to talk about my son Matthew II.
After 5 years of trying to have a baby God finally blessed us with a son as awesome and special as you. Since the moment you were born when the doctor laid you on your mother with your eyes open and your head lifted I knew there was something special about you. From all the moments of excited and happiness you brought your mother and I through tough times of trying to have you we knew you would be special. From the many baths with your mother or I when you pooped on us(in the midst of bathing) we knew you were special.
From the moment we found out we were having a boy my world light up knowing I would have someone to share my name with Matthew M.T. Gamble II meaning “Gift from God” I knew you would be special. From holding your head up after birth and having your eyes open I knew there would be something special about you. From holding your bottle at 3 months all by yourself to crawling, walking and growing teeth we knew you were special. From experiencing our first swim class and you being the youngest and the only child not to cry to the moment we knew you loved music and enrolling you in music school we knew you were special.
It seems just like yesterday when we brought you home and now you’re a one year old always active and one the go. Crawling, walking and exploring anything and everything you can get your hands on it’s been a joy being able to see you grow every day. Hearing the words dada and mama for the first time was just as awesome as seeing your kick and move in your mommies belly for the first time on Father’s Day 2014 while crying my eyes out. Playing music on your mommies belly and seeing you move like crazy was amazing but it’s been just as special being able to see you dance whenever you hear music.
Wow times sure does fly but while time seems to be going by I’ll be making sure I’m enjoying every moment I have with you. I’m looking forward to being able to have conversations with you and seeing how well you will develop into an awesome young man. I couldn’t be more blessed to have such an awesome son like you but we’re blessed to have been given the opportunity to spend everyday home together thanks to your awesome mom.
Let’s see what this year hold! I know it will be just as exciting and awesome as the first one and I’m looking forward to documenting every moment of it as you mature and develop even the more. I love you son and couldn’t be happier to call you my son!
