A few days ago I was outside doing yard work while my son slept. As he gets older it becomes easier for me to go outside to take care of things in the home and outside that need to be taken care of. It also isn't often that I have enough time to get work done because of work and school but on the days I can get it done I have to make sure I take advantage of it because it could be days before I get to it again. Once he woke up I immediately went into the house to get him but realized there was still much yard work that needed to be done. So I bundled him up took his stroller out the car and went back to work making sure he was cared for and our yard looked as good as the other neighbors. It's major competition in my neighborhood of lots or retired people with driving lawn mowers and I've also realized once I finish doing yard work I always here a mower going. As I continued to complete yard work I would often look at him to see what he was doing but much to my surprise he was also often observing me waving and smiling.
Being outside with my little guy has made me look forward to the moment when he will be able to help me cutting the grass, plowing the driveway and everything that it takes to keep a house. As time progresses I's sure he will be a big help in wanting to make sure he's being a help to daddy when it comes to keeping the house looking good inside and out.
I'm lucky enough to have one of the happier babies that only requires sleep, food and lots of love meaning he doesn't cry a lot at all. It amazed me how calm he was the entire time we were outside and overall how happy he always is. If it wasn't for his consistent cooperation there is no way they yard work would have gotten done. Now that the snow is here we'll have to figure something else out because daddy won't be taking him out in the snow but I guess as the snow increases and becomes more consistent we'll figure out a way to work in snow plowing.
