Hello everyone, Yes, it’s been a while since we’ve had a moment to talk and catch up but sometimes life gets the best of you and when your plate begins to get to full you have to learn to recalibrate to think about those who would be most affected by your decisions. The last time I wrote anything it was me telling you all how busy I was with focusing on school and going full time. That was December of 2016 and since then I’ve been just as busy if not busier. Matthew II also known as M2 is constantly excelling at everything he puts his mind to. At two years, old he’s currently going to a Lutheran Daycare after being pulled from his last one after many concerns of my wife and I but since then he’s continued to thrive. He’s counting to 30 and even able to count backwards not from 30 yet but sooner than later. He as usual loves ABCs, shapes, colors and anything that he can get his hands on to learn and play with. Overall, he’s a ball of exciting energy always on the go and challenging my wife and I to figure out what we need to focus on next with him. My wife on the other had is busy at private practice which she opened after leaving a group counseling after a number of years. She found much success in that but decided she needed to branch out to have more control over how she wants to see clients and began to shift her focus towards perinatal counseling focusing on women before, during and after childbirth who struggle with anxiety, depression and feeling overwhelmed just to name a few. Since launching Maternal Counseling Services in November she has been thriving with constant referrals and connections. As for me I’m busy as usual with working full-time and working towards more promotions as greater opportunities within the organization to going to school full-time which this time next year I’ll be finishing. I’m also in search of graduate programs in the area which if all things go well I’ll either complete one more year at the school I’m currently attending or go to Western Michigan University to get a degree in Industrial Organizational Behavioral Management. It’s sounds fancy but it’s another word for someone who desires to work in human services, business and consulting which I look forward to having the opportunity to do.
My wife and I have also been on this awesome and amazing financial journey over the past few months to help us build a debt free life for ourselves and generations to come after us. I’ll explain that in later post but since going through Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University we’ve been focusing on debt snowball with an auto loan, credit cards along with our student loan debt which is pretty hefty. All in all, life has been very good to me over the past year along with my family, marriage, education, and career. I would have never imagined how God would be able to orchestra such peace in my life and I look forward to having the ability to live a life like no one else. “Live like no one else now so later you (WE) can live like no else later.” -Dave Ramsey
