Tuesday's are always a special day in our home! It's the day when I cook breakfast as I do every morning before my wife heads off to work for a long day but most importantly it's the day when Matthew II and I head up to mommies job to spend quality time with her for lunch. It makes my wife's day knowing that she'll be able to see her two favorite guys despite her long work day in such a hectic work environment sometimes. Especially with the school semester soon to follow it eases her mind knowing that we'll be able to have time together in the middle of her day.
When my wife returned back to work after being off for 13 weeks it was hard trying to determine how we would maneuver throughout our week with her being away from the home so much. In her past employer that she returned to after maternity leave it was easy to come and go when she was in her office to spend time with her but once a new position opened at another college in our hometown it became more difficult to come and go due to her busy schedule with such a limited amount of free time. Once she got into the grove of things at her new job it became easier to know how the department operated and how her co-workers would feel with me bringing a baby into the office. In the end it really worked out because he became a Tuesday highlight for everyone in her office.
Tuesday's are considered our family lunch date because it usually consist of me packing leftovers from the day before with lots of food, drinks and snacks and gives us the opportunity to continue bonding as much as possible. My wife wanted it to be an opportunity to see our son as much as possible without missing so many milestones in his life which worked in her favor once she went from a full-time employer after maternity leave to a part-time employer making more money with a greater amount of time to be home. Every decision that we've made this year concerning our son has been wonderful and has equally benefited us all as a family.
Our son outside of God and one another is our everything and our Tuesday family lunch date makes it that much easier to be able to enjoy one another without causing hassle to anyone else. Tomorrow is our date and we're looking forward to it!!!
