We had a blast celebrating Halloween with our little one this year. We really don't trick or treat because there are so many other activities that we'd rather be apart of then going out in the cold or going house to house.
Our initial plan was for our son to be a bear or something really cute and fluffy but once we started looking for costumes at the last minute we realized that it would be impossible for us to find something that was reasonably priced in enough time. Last weekend we went from store to store preparing for his first birthday and looking for costumes which we didn't find. As we sat talking a few nights before Halloween we realized that we had an outfit that was given to us from a dear friend that Matthew wouldn't have the opportunity of wearing since he's starting to get really tall now. Once we decided that he would wear his tuxedo outfit I told my wife that we needed a top hat and he would need a mustache. To my surprise my wife said that would be an easy fix and she would make one. That Friday afternoon before Halloween we went to the fabric store purchased everything she needed came home and she went to work creating this amazing top hat for our son.
Once Halloween came we were off to our Saturday music class that we have every Saturday at Crescendo Academy which I highly recommend to children of any age. Since we were having a Halloween Party during music class my wife stayed up until about 2 am making the hat for our son and we enjoyed every part of being able to celebrate it with him. By the time it came to do any other activities such as going to church or community events or even trick or treating we were all too tired to do anything else so we decided to go home. Overall our son had an awesome time being able to dress up like the Gentleman he is with his tuxedo, top hat and mustache. Hope your children had just as much fun as our son did!
