A few days ago I wrote about being on a blogcation (break from blog). Once I began writing I honestly had no idea what I would be writing about but once I was done I figured I would call it a blogcation without even knowing what it really was. I also discovered once I typed blogcation into my goggle search engine that I would find so many bloggers who felt the same way about needing time off sometimes.
Once I began looking at other bloggers take on taking a blocation I noticed a trend. Many bloggers had lost motivation to write or as we as blogger like to call it they were burnt out from blogging. Trying to keep up with hectic schedules and deadlines and life getting in the way when they were thinking hard about content to write about in there blogs. As my son screams in my ear literally I’m having a hard time understanding what I can even continue to write but I think there are some things that I’m used to and his screaming is one of them. I guess I can say it’s the good screaming as he’s watching sprout and cringing with excitement. I tend to get off subject when something is going on around me but as a writer it seems to work in my favor but back to blogcation.
I must say for myself I never have a hard time having content to write about because my 9 month old is always doing something new daily that I can write about. I must say the most difficult things for me are trying to write about my son and finances as well as take care of my household and my strenuous school schedule. I’m not really a paid blogger other than when you decide to click ads then I’m paid through AdSense but I mostly blog as a hobby. I would love someday to make a living from doing something that I thoroughly enjoying do but for now I’ll stick to having fun with it and writing when I want instead of sticking to extremely hectic schedules. There I go going off topic again. LOL
As I’ve stated before there were many writers who were simply burnt out and they used blocationing as a way of escape to take a break to ensure their love of writing wouldn’t die out before it was too late. I recently read a blog “Boost Your Productivity by Taking Breaks” that talked about why taking breaks or blogcations as I’m calling them are important for helping boost your productivity and how they can affect your health amongst other things. They listed many things that I can agree with when it comes to me not taking a break from blogging and sitting at a computer all day called medical maladies one by which I’m suffering with today but not because of sitting at the computer but from not sleeping comfortably last night which makes it very hard to sit in a chair and write is muscle aches and back problems. You also can have issues with carpal tunnel syndrome, insomnia and anxiety just to name a few. The article also gives you much insight on how to plan your work day to ensure your taking proper breaks as well as staying healthy and energized.
Whatever you may do to take a break make sure you take time out to take a break/breather as a blogger or whatever you may do for a living to refresh your mind, body and soul. It has long lasting effects that will continue to help you live a prosperous life.
